How you speak day to day is one thing but what you write is another. There are more useful words in our language than the unimaginative subject description - some even suggest that writing requires a higher skill level than oral language but then again maybe not.

I could sit here and defend my communication abilities, but it would be to completely ignore the ability of blunt, crude language to express emotion and get to the point of how I was feeling at the time.

I'd be wondering if the impact & subsequent damage might have affected the cars geometry. Not long before the crash you had a wheel alignment done, do you reckon it'd be a good idea if your alignment guys put the car on the machine again to recheck the settings. I reckon I'd do this if it were my car.
Anyway, I think you'll find it's going to be close to write-off, doesn't take much of a hit before the insurance company will just pay you out.

Cheers Col. Fairly sure it won't be a write-off, but it may take a few weeks to fix... have visited Dick for a quote but he's submitting it straight to the insurance co.

I'll get the alignment rechecked (ideally it is part of the repair, I'll check), but eyeballing, it seems pretty good. Looked underneath on Saturday and none of the suspension seems damaged, the panels/quarter structure took most of the force.

that's a relief =]. I remember when i had a look at it, it appeared to be only panel damage. However i don't want to be presumptions in case there are some hidden damage that i can't see.

Difficulty is those panels are structural and welded in. And the inner panels have been bent as well as the outer ones being damaged. So there's a bit of work to un-weld and replace it.

Rim is dinged up and (being polished) probably can't be repaired.

Insurance claim approved. Now waiting for the MX-5 Factory to have some time available to repair it! Booked in for May 26...
