It cannot fit into my 2002 titanium version, want to find out what model it's for. The base ring is kind of same height all around.

I have an SP (2002) which came with the genuine Mazda chrome lid as standard, and yours looks the same to me.

Maybe it's for an NA. But I thought the NA fuel lid is slightly curved. Maybe it's not.

It looks round to me so therefore I think it is an NA lid

Here's the lid to my NB8B, and it looks similar to yours.

I know this might be a silly question (I didn't want to assume), but which side did you have the lid hinge when you tried to fit it? Towards the front of the car or the rear?

actually the shape is fine, the only thing is the base not fit into the car, will be 1 side up 1 side down when I put in lid in.

Silly question - is it for a 5?

that's a good point. It does not look circular in that picture. It looks like it is actually oval in shape.

The insides of the lid looks like its for the 5, and the one on my NB8B is not pure circle, more ovalish in shape.

It's could be the position of the lid (ie. orientation)

Does it sit flush when you remove the 3 mounting bolts? :?

No what I mean is, when the 3 bolts are physically removed does the fuel cap sit flush and level with the car then? The pics you've posted shows it sitting uneven but the bolts are still in there. :)

I bought one of these for my NA from MX5Parts.co.uk.

As delivered, the bracket was bolted on 180 degrees the wrong way.

If you unbolt the mounting bracket, rotate the bracket 180 degrees, then re-attach to the lid, it may fit.

That's what looks to be the problem here.
