How do i remove a Momo Boss from my NA?

Im wanting to fit a Nardi to my NA6- how do i get the Momo boss off? its driving me mad- there is nowhere to attatch a steering wheel puller- ive sprayed half a can of WD40 in there, and still no joy

You can fit a puller-you may have to be creative.
Though that is not helping you is it?
Ok.
1. Make sure the nut is on by a few threads. This is important.
2. Sit in driver seat and bash the wheel rim with the heels of both hands towards you.

I am serious.
This is what I do when I am too lazy to find my puller.
It may take a few minutes and may start to hurt your hands but it does work.

It may be helpful if you strike the steering shaft with a copper hammer, just to perhaps loosen the mechanical grip the wheel has on the shaft.
Try not to damage thread/splines at this stage.

Don't forget the nut.
I bloodied my nose when I was a youngster doing this on my mk1 escort when I forgot about the nut. :roll:

fast freddy is a hack.......................use point 1, but instead of beating your hands to a pulp, grab a mate, one of you put weight on the steering wheel (pulling towards you) while the other uses a rubber mallet to give the retaining nut a few good whacks, much more civilised. :mrgreen:

fair call....you've obviously seen how we do a clutch/flywheel change then :mrgreen:

seriously, the only issue I have with pulling on the steering wheel is that you can bend it.
But I guess you can bend it back...

Hey John,

No, actually- the wheel was a Nardi Classico Mahogany Rimmed wheel i was putting into my 91 Italia- your wheel went in like a dream just using the original boss kit. Both wheels look awesome in both of the cars

I just need to put the trim ring on.
