Wheel Alignment

Ok so I thought it might be best to get things checked up before the Track Day coming

Now I've never done a wheel alignment before (erh I'm on my Ps) so i pretty much know nothing


My 5 is mainly dríven on the street once in a while on the tracks

Shes a NB8A, stock height, stock rims, just stock

I know there are some alignment specs in the Tech section but i have no clue what means what http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=15398 and are these for an NB8A

So could someone recommend me what specs to use

I'd like my car to take corners like its ment to be and at the same time not wear out my tyre real quick (is that possible)


Where in Brisbane do you recommend me going to? Southside would be best
I know there Fulcrum about 10min from Work and is also club sponsor

How long would it take to do wheel alignment? and is booking normally required?

Fulcrum in Fairfield Tien........they know their stuff & you get a discount when you flash your club card, they'll advise you which settings are best for you.

also, Fulcrum is just around the corner from me in Tradelink rd, Hillcrest, which is probably closer for you

& yes, booking is required........& about 40 mins would be my guess

Talk to Gary at Fulcrum Fairfield. You can wait while it is being done if you book a time. Tell him you want it set up slightly more agressively than road settings for the occasional track day and he'll do it. Generally you need something like .5 to .75 degrees negative front camber and 1.0 to 1.5 degrees negative rear camber. About 2 to 3 mm toe in front and rear and 5 to 6 degrees front caster.

How much would it cost?

That's the one. Last time cost me $77 (4 wheel alignment) as I recall with club discount. Telephone them for more info - talk to Gary.

Only if you've got abnormal wear or vibes. The guys at Fulcrum will check that anyway - but ask them if in any doubt.

How'd ya go Tien?
You've given me the bug too! I've got the NB booked in tomorrow for an alignment. Taking her to Computer-Line in Preston. Haven't been there before, just acting on the publicity/promotion I've seen in the Vic Club mag. They are also a sponsor of the MX-5 Club for the Winton 6-Hour event.
I hope to have a big smile on my face when I drive back home tomorrow

Very happy with how the 10AE drives now, after the wheel alignment. Doesn't dart around so much now, esp on uneven road surfaces [reduced tramlining].
Simon at Computer-Line was very thorough, he made sure my son & I were sitting in the car while adjustments made. For anyones interest, my final settings are:

Front: Caster 6 deg
Camber: - 1.25 deg
Toe: 1/32 inch in

Rear: Camber: - 1.25 deg
Toe: 1/16 inch in
