I have posted heaps of questions on this forum, and the big forum asking about turbo and non turbo builds. I flip flopped and decided to build an aspirated \"screamer\". This thread will detail the build process, and the results. It will take a while, prob 8-12 weeks, but thought I should start somewhere.
Recipe is an NB8B engine (VVT)
11:1 pistons, strengthened rods, performance crank, lightweight flywheel and clutch from a 1.6 all ballanced.
Head will get a 5 angle valve job, port matching, and \"race porting\".
Will use custom intake crank, and a motec M400.
Manifold will be power ported, and the throttle body bored to 57mm.
Hope is for is 120rwkw totally streetable. Real Aim is more like 105-110rwkw.
Parts have been assembled, the throttle body done, and the maifold I got back today.
Manifold Before Power Porting flowed as follows:
1. 242cfm
2. 244cfm
3. 243cfm
4. 240cfm
After Power Porting
1. 276 (up 34)
2. 273 (up 29)
3. 271 (up 28 )
4. 272 (up 32)
Im not sure if I will get much benefit from this (ironically it would be great for boost), but have it, and a stock manifold, and will pick the best one.
Will put some pictures up of the manifold later.
Will also dyno the car just before engine installation, and after of course.
Lets see how it all goes.

are you going to an oversized throttle? ill do a search but theres some people on here that have been enlarging the throttle inlet aparently its a bit of a restriction also... not sure again if this will be needed on an NA monster... any thoughts on quads?
there are also some cam shafts out there for the NB8Bs now but im yet to hear of anyone using them... could always buy an NB8A head or SE too i guess if you want to get some nice cams and up the rpm limiter...
i have an NB8A that im putting some Tomie's pon cams in, a haltec E8 and tune, cleaning out the inlet manifold and redoing the CAI and i was hoping to get up around the 100rwkw
car had about 73rwkw stock. 83rwkw with exhaust and CAI.. (different dyno's however) will hopefully get all this done sooner rather than latter and get a reading with the tune
