I came from Falken Azenis RT615's in 195/60/14. The S-drives are substantially better, however I would have to say alot is to do with the lower profile tyres. That said, I'm sure once things get cracking on the track, the S-Drives will go away pretty quickly compared to the 615's which lap (excuse the pun) it up.

I've moved from C-Drives to Adrenalin RE001s. They were a good step up all round on road and track. I can't comment on S-Drives.

I assume you are talking about the ones on my car? They feel quite nice and progresive but ulimately they dont have high levels of grip as Cambo displayed during the run through Bulladelah Bends. PS: More grip than Turnaround Tom though.
I was going to get PP2s but they werent available in time so went for the S Drives. I think I'll be changing them over soon and cut my losses.

It also may be your setup. I'm running about -1.7deg camber.
I have found heaps of grip form mine, I had no trouble sticking to the rear of a Lotus Elise through tight corners where he was clearly on the limit.

They appear to be a very average tyre (fitted to a NC)
I was able to stay with the S Drive shod NC through some pretty tight corners (near long flat) while driving Garry's SP. Mind you, Cameron was driving the NC at the time and is usually faster than me.
Not a squeal was heard from Garry's PP2s during the tussle Plenty of noise was coming from the S Drives!

Good tyres
No point in putting cheap tyres on your car, I have Toyo Proxes TR1 and they are simply awesome, great handling in wet and dry. They are on the pricey side but well worth it, if you shop around you can get them for about $245.00 in 17\".

Dry, clean surface. Lots of noise and sliding from the S-drives, no noise and plenty of grip from the Michelins. When KK had the OEM Michelins on his NC he didn't seem to have any of the dramas that he was having on the weekend, same alignment. For $130 each they're probably not a bad tyre, for $230 each you can buy some PP2's and almost have enough money left over for a wheel alignment. I know what I'd be buying. Though the PP2's will probably only last you around 30k kms, the S-Drivs might go a bit further (you'd hope).

I'm surprised about peoples comments on the RT-615!!?? I found 'em to be utter crap! They were never anywhere near as good as the std Toyo Trampio Vimode that came with the SE, and the PP2s are miles ahead of both.
The PP2s I have on now are well worth the extra $$$ if you can bring yourself to drop the coin on 'em

I'm getting bridgestone RE001's on saturday for $197, fitted & balanced, which I think is quite reasonable.
It will be my 5th set of tyres, after 190000km
First 2 were bridgestone turanza ER30's (stock), plenty of track days, lasted 25000km each.
Next set was yokohama A539's, which lasted nearly 45000km, including a couple of track days.
Last 2 sets have been CDrives, 40000km on the first set, with dodgy old suspension, second set lasted 60000km, with new (second hand, 5000km old) stock suspension, (thanks BJ!) and new suspension bushes for the last 15000km.
