and most importantly the \"expansion chamber\" dodgy intake

wow you werent kidding

good idea though and obviously works well ?

have you just used stormwater reducers?

this clever mod begs the question, why cant we just buy one similar that could be easily made out of plastic tubing so it was cheaper than this one?

Thanks TJ. Yeah you got me its just pvc reducers from bunnings covered with cool reflective tape. I did't want to spend much on it not knowing what sort of affect it would have, and there may be other plans down the line too, which would void that itake anyhow... It was quite noticable the difference from that with the chamber to when I still had the intake going through the firewall, it really helped to improve throttle response and also my hearing.

Fatty, the thermostat is just in the back of the head in the stock housing from the front, which has a 16mm(IIRC) bolt in it plugging the thermosensor hole. I could remove that altogether as teh megasquirt take care of fan control. When you pull the heater outlet off there is already a machined seat in the head for the thermostat to drop into.

Just though I might post up a link to Danny's video from the track day yesterday. Mine is the white one making the loud noises :D It really helps to show what sort of effect the mods have had, namely the 6 speed, being able to launch out of corners on cam.

I love the passing in this video, and the half spin I had in turn 3(clubman circuit) where Danny caught me up again. Keep an ear on the screaming noise coming up next to him down the main straight right at the end. :D

Thanks do Danny a.k.a. orx626 for the footage

I had a mate going out to willowbank tonight so I went along and took mine for a run. I got 3 runs but the first was the best of the 3, the 2nd wasn't far off and the third I tried upping the launch slightly but got alot of wheelspin in first.

So anyways, ran a 15.509 @137kph, the next 2 runs were a touch slower at 15.578(slight bog at the start) and 15.752(wheelspin so shifted to 2nd and bogged) but both were at 143kph.

I'm quite happy with the times, and its certainly an improvement on last time, stock car with just intake and exhaust did a 16.7.

Interesting you located the coolant reroute down the intake side - mine is on the other side between the turbo and the engine.

Still works the same though :)
