Vak82's NA6T
<- Still haven't wiped the smile off my face since I picked her up last week
Just bought myself a turbocharged NA6 from Sydney. I haven't had a chance to wash her yet to do a photoshoot but here's a photo courtesy of brad_78.
Details:
1990 NA6 Australian Delivered
TD-04 Turbo
Wolf 3D Computer
Intercooler with custom piping
Kakimoto cat back exhaust
High Flow cat converter
GTX Injectors
Malpassi AFPR
Brown Davis Roll Bar
Sparco Sprint seat
RPM Harnesses
Starcorp 16inch Wheels
Racing Beat front swaybar
Koni adjustable shocks
King Springs
DBA cross drilled and slotted front and rear rotors with Bendix Ultimate pads
Exedy heavy duty clutch
VLSD
Bleed Valve
Pivot Headlight controller
Boags offset number plate holder
I've been informed that the car has been tuned for 140rwkw and 470nm torque on MX5 Mania Dyno. Can't really go wrong if it's got MX5 Mania's stamp of approval.
Don't have many plans for the car just yet. At the moment there's a little bit of movement in the crankshaft pulley which mirrors the short nose crankshaft issue. Don't know how long it's been around but overall, I'm still pleased with the package.
It's time for me to start going through the whole forum again reading up tips for the NA6s..
Looking forward to seeing you all on more club runs.
Cheers,
Danny
PS - any tips on how to deal with the short nose crankshaft problem would be great!

Re: Vak82's NA6T
Nice car
Riiiiight...
I've had the same problem and if I were you I'd be fixing it quicksmart before it gets worse and irreversible, feel like buying a new engine?
I seemed to have fixed 99% of the wobble, but I let mine get very bad before I fixed it, if I didn't I may have fixed it completely. Do it yourself though, its not that hard just time consuming since you need to dismantle the front of the engine. Beats paying someone to break it even more.
See post 3: http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.ph ... 96&start=0
Basically buy all new parts (wasn't that expensive really), some loctite and a torque wrench, and just make you're you don't overtighten it. And remember that if you ever get someone to do your timing belt to NOT undo the crank bolt, its not necessary and is the reason they fail in the first place. And make sure the bolt doesn't come loose.
About your car, maybe you might want a rear sway bar to match the front. And not too sure how you have bendix ultimates on the rear of a 1.6 since they don't even make it in that size.

BTW, were your ears burning last night? You were with us in spirit at our Okibi In Adelaide Big Night Out.
Hey Redshoes,
The NC is now with the better half. It was just getting way too inconvenient taking it away from her so I went and bought something for myself... And besides, I've always wanted to own an NA from the beginning. . Feels strange taking a step back though...
Lol... yes... In fact I was thinking about you lot the other night. Would have loved to be there but it sounds like you all had a great time nevertheless. Great stuff guys... and keep up the good work!

Thanks Sasso for the breath of fresh air. A friend and I will definately make an effort to try to fix the wobble, especially after finding the "Crankshaft Loctite Fix" document on miata.net. Just gotta find the time to attack it.
TBH, I haven't had a day off since buying the car to really check it all out. The desciption of parts were taken of the sale description when it was advertised. But thanks for the heads up...

The embarrassment is now with the misses so it's all good now.. ;)

Excellent work Danny!
Nothing beats a White NA6T!!!
I have the parts needed for the fix at my house (all new from Mazda) which I bought when I had my spanner moment...
Yours for half what Mazda charges.
