Where did your 5 end up Sean? It was certainly a great little weapon, even in low boost guise!
The new toy looks good... are they 4x100 wheels? I thought the RX/929's had different stud patterns. What developments have occurred since you bought it?
Yay a comment!
The MX5 went to a member here who has improved it further with air con and some other comfort mods
The 929 is soooo much work, think patchy time by 15 or so. The wheels on it are 114.3 now, they were re-welded and redrilled from a different pattern, and spacers made up to get the offset right.
It looks a tad more grey now thanks to most of it being in primer.
So far the engine has been rebuilt to stock spec - definately not a rocket, but the big manual choke switch gives a real sense of ceremony.
A whole lot of rust has been cut out and replaced with new steel, a HUGE job, much bigger than I was planning on, but it's coming along slowly, the body itself is fairly good, but the sills were rubbish, as are both the doors, we patched the doors with some plates but I'm keeping my eye out for 2 new doors, I dont feel right about welding so much into doorskins!
Will get some more pics of her up soon.

Have logs of it making over 24psi, but we ran out of map sensor up there so never intentionally ran it above about 21.
Made approx
235@13psi
260@15psi
280@19psi
All without gas, it seemed to be quicker 1/4 mile wise with the smaller turbo and lower powered set-up.

Haha; that has to be HP.
This is a sweet car. Got the pleasure of riding shotgun last year for a flat foot moment. Very schweeet.

It's not uncommon for MX5s to run 12s in fairly streetable set-ups.
This one and Steve's blue turbo NA6 have both run in the 12s, Steve had a much better MPH, but I can't recall what it was, I think he ran 12.4? From memory Jas's GURGLR ran in the 12s too.
BJ and a few others here have run Turbo NBs (both SP and custom) into the mid 12s with great MPH
Sasso wrote:What sized turbo?
Small
Had turbos from a 280hp AVO to a Garrett 2871R.
Ran 12s with a 2860 almost identical to an SP turbo.
