So the day ends. STM is going to give the paint a while to harden and setlle before we cut and buff it, so it won't really show it's true potential for a few weeks yet, but at least it isn't patchy anymore!

We both learned a lot through this exercise as neither of us has sprayed a car before. First lesson is - if you want a glorious, glossy immaculate finish, take it to an expert and pay them lots of money 8) 8). Second lesson is - spend twice as long in preparation as you think is necessary. Third lesson is - Damn it's a lot of work!! I'll let STM tell the rest of the story and fill in the blanks.

PS We were just messin' with yer head Craig! The hardtop remains untouched and Titanium to the core :P

ohhh guys...... this has been a real journey.

big dog has summed it up nicely

......details....
the bonnet was done a few times & sanded right back.....we were happy with the third attemp.
Bootlid was done twice.
eventually running out of paint.
there was a huge learning curve. I thought it would be a lot easier that it was.
The dogyest piece of work goes to the Beaver Panel. We'd run out of paint & time. we diluted the very diluted last bit of paint. & just sprayed it. All things considered....didn't turn out too bad.

Im gald we went the extra mile for the sills...

Fantastic Stefan!
It'll look as good as new very soon.

You should have painted Craig's hardtop red.
Then when he came around ot collect it, he wouldn't have recognised it.
