Sam electrics was correct 10 seconds of nube status...
I saw some interesting light weight mods that winton weekend
Is the formula for weight reduced vs time saved -46kg = 0.03 sec?
I noticed better times with an almost empty tank of petrol (maybe from experience aswell)?
I need -15333kg to eliminate my 10 seconds of nube status
Next time I go the the track I will weigh and record everything that goes into or comes out of my car. (Im a daily driver dont expect tons)
Pain to remove but woth the effort
I think its considered un sprung weight must be worth the effort. Front dust shield remain on the car, as it scoops air.
I hope monotube construction is light weight we will find out soon enough, however stock might be leaking oil wich could make a discrepency.
The difference is apparent, a GB for wood knobs would be benifical.
Weight of stock MX5 battery (panasonic) 9.514 kg
Dimensions are 16cm tall, 23.5 cm wide, 12.5 cm deep
Weight of stock MX5 rear suspension 3.933 kg
Weight of stock MX5 front suspension 4.608 kg
I have saved a total of 1.5 kg in the weight of suspension im quite happy with that result.

every ounce counts
Built BP, weight reduction. Whats going on Joel, you changing your bling ways and building some secret street machine and not telling us? You should document it on the 'my car' page.
For track days just take out everything that is easily removable that weighs something significant. Like subwoofer, spare, jack, everything in glove box. I leave my amp in, it weighs a bit but its in a central location and a pain to remove. At our level of racing it doesn't make any difference, unless you were at the pointy end of a proper race then who cares if you're 0.1 faster because you spent hours taking things off your car. And heck my best laptimes are always after I just put 20L of fuel into the tank 3/4 through the day.
Although, there is a HUGE difference when you take a passenger with you, you notice the car doesn't get to as high a speed and that its a dog in the corners. Imagine how fast the car would be taking out another passenger worth.
Oh and some people say taking off power steering helps too, but I think its not worth it. You will be quicker not having sore arms after a 20 min stint than having the small load taken off the engine, (and weight).
oh and 50kg will give you way more than 0.3s.
But anyway are you actually doing this for the track or just to have a street weapon? I'm more interested in this engine...more details?

It was interesting that it was slightly faster than a 65kg driver in the same model car...
You have more momentum up the hill after the straight.
