Cheapest place for RE001's in Melb!

Postby Slugoid » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:42 am

Since everyone seems to be getting the new Bridgestone RE001 (Adrenalin), does anyone know where I can get them cheap in SE or East Melbourne? 195 or 205/50R15's.

The cheapest I've heard is $120 for 195/50R15, but not sure where.

Another question is, 195 or 205? For 15X6.5 rims. Main concern is grip.

Post away and help a brother! :P

Try Protec Tyres at Ferntree gully. I got mine there, they are Bridegestone tyre centre.

RE01 or the RE001?
if it's the RE001 then I got 195/50/15 for $113 each, fitted and balanced

Been ringing around all of today and the very best I could do was $130 each for 195/50R15. Was actually $135, but bumped down to $130 cos i said I had no tyres on the current rims. Most other places were selling them for $140 and even up to $160. According to one guy, $160 is the RRP and $140 was the trade price when I tried to price match  .

If anyone knows a place SE or East Melbourne that does better, please let me know. But seems like prices for these tyres are slowly creeping up due to their popularity.

I've got 195/50r15 Adrenalins on 6.5 rims. Perfect fit, wouldn't want to go larger.

For the NB8B owners... how much are the larger 205 45 R16 going for??

Well I've finally decided to go with 195/50R15 cos 205 cost more and I can imagin them being a little too fat for 15X6.5 rims.

Will be getting them for $130 this Friday, which is good enough and I really cbf ringing any more places. I rang 4 bridgestone tyre centers near my area and they all range from $140-160, so I'm happy with $130.

I feel your pain, haha! I've currently got 205/45R16 Goodyear GSD3 and although dry grip isn't bad, wet grip is getting very lousy over time.

I can't wait to try these RE001's on my new rims :)

I got quoted for $210 for 205/45/16

Expensive considering T1R is around $170

Hrmz $210 for RE001 in our size seems reasonable;

Compared to $235 for crapyear.

Not looking foward to winter and wet roads...
every ounce counts
