Sounds like great news, hope you didn't get too much traffic along nashos.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I'm tempted to try hi-res. The thermofan control and idle control still aren't working though, so there's still some playing that needs doing.

Are they currently not working on your setup? or not working in Hi-res?

I might try idle control next week. The bigger Idle transistor was a bugger to solder as i only have a 5mm tipped soldering iron. I hope mine works

As for fans, that's just a low output right? (goes to ground) maybe you can meter it to see what it is doing, I haven't modded mine for fan control yet, but from the drawings it looks like it's output ends up next to the boost control (JS0 - pin 1 or 2 on the DB plug?)
Huh?

Get a good quality soldering iron - you won't regret it as it makes everything so much easier. saboteur and I have the soldering stations from Dick Smith and they're so much better, you'll wonder how you put up with the crappy irons. The other good thing about them as well as being temperature controlled, having a cleaning sponge, stand etc - you can interchange the tips for finer ones. Mine was $80 or thereabouts.

Fans are a low output - I did the mod to control them:

(see the top corner of the proto area. Space efficiency for the win!)

and it worked to begin with. Though now I suspect maybe I lost the setting where I defined the output as being for the fan.. or perhaps the switch point.

Idle control... no fugging idea what's wrong with it. I need to start poking around with a multimeter.

Hey do I really need an IAT? I know it's only $20USD more, but I'm trying to limbo under the magic $1,000 mark to avoid duty.

Won't MAP sensing backed-up by TPS signal be sufficient?

no.

you need IAT as that is how the megasuirt calculates its fueling.

Just order it in a 2nd batch or ask them not to include it in the same invoice.
Huh?

Freight on a second lot is only about 30- dollars depending on the weight, I think you are better off getting it all in two lots myself, just incase the dollar drops again when they calculate it in customs, which means you could get slugged gst and duty.

Just ordered my PNP..... bye-bye $1,000
Geoff, Tim, Tim (I hate it when I stutter)... I will have to arrange a time to come see one, or all, of you when I'm ready to install mine. I want to get it right first time.

Congrats. It's hard to go wrong if you follow the instructions on the website. The manual is reasonably detailed.

Like Geoff said, it is really wel explained in the manual. I'm sure one of us can give you a few pointers when you get it too.

Sab, I think you should think again about mounting it there. 2 of our Vic cars have melted units now from heat coming off aftermarket headers. Mine on the dyno, the other at Winton. An MS is an expensive piece of kit to go all squishy on you.
