was waiting to get some photo's before announcing it
well come on, chop chop!
So is it as simple as stripping the wires on the stock indicators and attaching new ones? and both stock and new work? no short-circuit?
I want to get some too.

I didn't bother hooking up the reflectors to be indicators and probably won't
but the indicators are easy, although I did it a bit different to others here
I used a thin piece of wood to get behind the panel (open the door halfway and there is a clear view of the indicator backing) and press on the clip that keeps the indicator in place so it just popped off without having to touch the paint at all,
also something I didn't know before, the front and rear reflectors are different shapes, I put them on but one side was looking a bit funny so I swapped them and it was all good

hang on a tick.... so you didn't connect them up?
Am I right in thinking that now you have clear \"reflectors\" in place of your orange ones?.... and that's it?
I'm not getting something here am I?

The old orange ones were only ever reflectors in the NB8A. It's only the round side repeaters that used to flash, and they still should, provided SM popped the clear bulb and replaced them with the orange ones.

yeah I know.
Ok hang on.... this is what I wanted to do;
Due to the fact I installed turn signal intakes, my front indicators have been reduced by about 80%, in other words, where the stock indicator was, there is now a big hole, and where the driving lights/parkers are, THAT\"s now the indicator.
I wanted to install the ones that SM bought so supplement my now reduced front indicators.
Check out the photo of my car in the My Rides section.

I understand what you want to do. You want the orange/red reflectors that sit on the front bar in front of your wheels to flash as well.
I'm not sure about NA's, but in the NB8As these were only ever reflectors. They never had bulbs in them and never flashed with the indicators. Thus, replacing the original orange ones to white ones and not connecting any bulbs hasn't removed any functionality. The reflectors still reflect and the round side indicators still indicate.

o ok, as my sig states mine is an NB8A so the only indicators I could really change are the round ones located just behind the front wheels, which do now have orange globes and work just fine
some others have made the reflectors into indicators and I'm sure there will be a writeup around here somewhere (if you search use the google one) but mine were purely for looks

Trader is correct. Functionality is indeed affected by replacing amber reflectors with clear because the wrong colour is displayed / reflected on the side of the vehicle. You can pretty well work out the rules of lighting by observation- amber for turn ( even thought the external lense may be clear) clear for front lamps and red for rear. Incidentally if you were selling a vehicle and the side reflectors were clear it would fail a rwc ie assuming the tester knew the rules.
