1990 NA - Abusive Horn Replacement suggestions??
Hey everyone, can anyone suggest a more abusive replacement horn for my 1990 NA.
I'm not a huge fan of air horns just looking for a more of an
'F off' than the original classic 'How are you this morning' horn sound.
Cheers,
L.

i've thought about replacing mine in the past, and if i were to do it i'd get one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/STEBEL-NAUTILUS- ... dZViewItem
nice and compact (no tubes to worry about), twin horns, no lag. only complaint is that it would be nice if it wasn't so high pitched - i think theres a sound clip on the manufacturer's website.

i stole mine off a 2000 model holden astra ( the work car right before it had done its 50,000 ks )
they are two horns twin pitched or whatever to create a good loud noise instead of the pansy road runner sounding excuse for a horn that it came out with
easily hooked up
they sound awesome and let all know that yes there is a car beside you
im sure people are suprised as they think they are going to see a big falcon or something and its my little beast in their blind spot

If you want to make ya neighbour's dog wee in fright, get a pair of 10-ton Mercedes truck horns. I installed a pair in my Alfa GTV that I once had, and each time my neighbour's dog saw me coming, she would scoot off in a hurry. I bet ya idle will dip a couple of hundred rpm when you lean on the horn button. You do need separate wiring and a relay too.

I had a set of Stebel Magnum II horns on my bike, twin scroll (so twin pitch). They are really loud, scared the life out of my cat and dog when I did a test beep.
These are around, you can get a group buy organised and they are something like $25 a set.
I'll have to get around to installing it onto the 5

Trust me - the twin horn air horns say *&^% OFF just as well as anything else.
Placed right at the front of the car just above the 'mouth' and pointed down I've used them to tell many a motorist of my presence..... one long blast speaks volumes
And used to give a cheery 'toot toot', they say hello just as effectively.
