NB8B bumper on a NB8A

Postby TieNN89 » Sat Mar 15, 2008 9:06 pm

I've seen members have NB8B bumpers on there NB8A but can't remember who it was so I'm postng here

I was wondering what is involved in it

Is it just a matter of taking off the 8As bumper and putting on the 8Bs bumper or do i have to change headlights etc etc

My bumper has scraps, been repaired, stone chips and one of which is now making the clear around it peal off

As SM mentioned, it will not fit perfectly as the headlights of NB8A are vastly different from the bottom line as the NB8B.

Any particular reason you'd like to do this?

If you're after a new nose for your NB8A, I think the Garage Vary is a much better looking nose than the factory NB8A

Or here's Racing Beat's nose cone replacement for the NB8A:

I have an NB8B bar on our NB8A.

The NB8A lights are rounder on the bottom... you could fill a bit of a curv into the NB8B bar so its a better fit or just upgrade your headlights too.

There's also about a 6mm gap on the insides of the lights because the NB8B lights come to a closer point towards the middle of the car.

The NB8B bumper also attaches differently and the inner guards from the NB8A dont fit it either.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

thanks for that

maybe i'll go aftermarket then

both those two bars looks similar but i like the Racing Beat one the other once seems to have a very big opening in the middle

Has anyone on here fitted this bar to these 5?

go stock bar with garage vary lip - cheaper easier and looks better.

watch out with aftermarket bars, some of them require removal of the bumper reinforcement, shock absorbing stuff (not sure what it's actually called)
