get the Mazdaspeed ones.. around$295 but HEAPS better than the ebay ones

i presume because its shorter all these grup buy knobs fit on them nicely whtout showing stick?

No.
Short means shorter throw, not shorter stick.
If you want me to be pedantic, the short shifters that I organised were shorter in height .... by 3mm.
