Is this too dodgy

Hi guys, I've decided to save up and get some SS Teins for my NA6, but in the mean time I was thinking of cutting my current stock springs just a little to lower the car about 30mm. Currently all my suspention is standard and in very good condition. I was thinking that someone here may have done this before and be able to tell me if this is a good thing or not.

A bag of cement sits nicely in the boot and a full tank of fuel should give you 15mm drop - cheap to!

If they aren't progressive rate springs I can't see the harm in it, but I'm no expert on the subject.

Cutting springs is the povo version of not doing the job right.

Besides the fact that if the springs were designed to be cut they probably already would be. Safety is also an issue as the springs are designed to have a proper flat section on each end to fit the spring seats.

Buy lowered, have them fabricated properly, or buy lowered.

Yes it is dodgy, but there are soo many ppl that have done it before its not funny. Try it if you want, it (most likely) wont break anything, if your shocks are in good condition they should be able to handle it.
Or if you just want the car a bit lower you could try re-setting the springs by heating them up and clamping them into a shorter height.

If you havent yet ordered the Tein SS, then i would reconsider how stiff you want the car cause the teins are wayy too soft for my liking. Not sure how good or bad the roads are in SA (havent been there since we moved 18 odd years ago) but unless they are full of pot holes and patchwork roads then you'll appreciate a stiffer ride of a better suspension set.
