but now, it's a different story.

if they just cut the prices now that the dollar is strong, they loose a bunch of money.

that's business i guess :?

Wait, who would lose money? If the dollar is stronger mania get it for cheaper and therefore can sell it for cheaper. FM still get the same amount in US dollars, so basically we benefit at nobodys loss.

i'm talking about the existing stock that they already have, which they would have purchased BEFORE the dollar was so strong.

that is, assuming they still have that old stock in inventory.

but yes, if they bought them in now, that is a different story.

Inventory? Doubt it. They'd probably order on demand.

So ye never know they might do us a deal with the strong dollar.

I had a chat with Mania on Saturday and their going to let me know what they can do for us.

That said I've been informed that if you supply your own butterfly brace, pricing for fitting only would be around $160.

At this point I've not heard from FM :frown:

Agree it gets a little delicate with local suppliers sometimes with group buys but from a business perspective you'd have to ask yourself if your better fitting items and getting paid instantly or outlaying funds for items that could have a small profit margin in a group buy situation and many weeks lead time (unless we all pay upfront and thats something completely different). I just think if we share the love around we all do ok.

Count me in. I'd prefer to get the full brace in one go, rather than just the rails, but if just the rails works out to be a fair bit cheaper, I guess I can be persuaded. :)

Is what mania asking - $800 (double price of US) include installation? if not $400 for shipping is steep. But after looking at the pictures, just the rails are much much smaller than the entire assembly.

$800 was supply.. but we have to review alot of the prices, most were back when the echange rate was at 50c USD!..

the frames are HUGE and HEAVY :)

So how long is it going to take to review the prices? People here are interested in a group buy........

I'm in for the rails and the brace. Once we've got the price and it's reasonable I'll give my 100%.

And of course, the old question of how we're going to install it. $160 at mania isn't too bad, but I guess not everyone has money to burn. I wouldn't mind dodgy daying it either though. I just wonder whether we can get it all done in a day if there's a fair few of us buying stuff.

wow triple post, now that'll get your post count up, well at least faster than making useless posts about other peoples repeat posts :P

I'll probably get mania to install mine since the use of a proper vehicle hoist would make it alot easier considering the way it would be mounted

Yeah, that would be the tricky bit, but I suppose if you have some ramps and a sled thingy (whatever they're called) you could probably get away with it without too much difficulty. Especially with help from lots of people.

Ok FM will give us a 10% discount provided we order 5 kits.

I asked for shipping costings for either 5 frame braces or 5 butterfly kits

5) 13-69010 (Frame Rails Kits)

UPS Expedited: $634.63 USD (about 1 week transit time) BAX Global/Schenker: $295 USD (about 2 weeks transit time)

5) 13-69920 (Butterfly Brace Kits)

UPS Expedited: $1065.71 USD (about 1 week transit time) BAX Global/Schenker: $510 USD (about 2 weeks transit time)

So if we were to get an order for 5 frame rails @todays $: $230AU ea plus GST (shouldn't be duty because of the US free trade agreement) - (worst case $300ish).

and an order for 5 butterfly braces: $482AU ea plus GST (worst case - $600ish)

Shipping in this case would be to Sydney and you'd have to make your own arrangements from there - might be worthwhile getting them sent direct from FM to each state if you can get a couple of people interested close by though.

Nows the time to look at this mania if your interested :D

Thats pretty good, and for more than 5 will we get a better discount? There's more than 5 people interested right? It'll take me a few weeks to get the money though, might be worth putting it in the FS section.

no couple of weeks for the cash business, it happens as soon as we get numbers.
