Group buy FM Chassis brace (finished) Fitting day organised!
Seeing as theres talk about this (yet again...) in another thread I figured I'd start up a group buy thread.
I'm very keen on fitting either the FM butterfly brace or even just the chassis rail braces. So would be keen to see what others are interested in doing.
Unless we can get multiple orders in differing locations will be Sydney based only. But post up your interest anyway and we'll see what we can do!

exactly!
Mods if you think this thread would be better in the for sale section please move it.
I'm considering just getting the frame rails, it adds a LOT less weight and you still get quite a benefit from my research, you can also upgrade to the full butterfly brace at a later date if you feel you require it.
Cost is a lot less at $190US against $390US for the full butterfly (the upgrade is $200). Freight would also be a lot cheaper and we should be able to get at least 3 shipped for under the magic $1000 barrier.

Nice one......there goes the trade balance and up goes my home loan payments....yes yes, I know its not that simple, but hey I'm feeling the bite.

I'm interested in either frame rails or full butterfly, perhaps in a month or so. The rails only is a pretty good idea I think, should save a heap on shipping and later when it can be afforded do another GB for the middle bit. It still apparently makes it 30% stiffer. Then more with the butteryfly bit.

For $200 thats really cheap, and if combined shipping saves a stack then awesome.
16 holes need to be drilled to install, how hard could it be? Dodgy weekend.
Lets go, need to move the thread to the for sale section to get people to notice.
Is what mania asking - $800 (double price of US) include installation? if not $400 for shipping is steep. But after looking at the pictures, just the rails are much much smaller than the entire assembly.
Hmm just thinking, will we really save if we get it half and half....
That rear subframe brace is looking good too.

yeah it's a bummer for mania that the dollar is so strong at the moment. i remember when they got the butterfly braces in initially their price was on par with FM, so it woulda been much better to get them from mania than deal with the hassle of international freight etc...
but now, it's a different story.
if they just cut the prices now that the dollar is strong, they loose a bunch of money.
that's business i guess
