These coupes are close to my dream car - Having taken the hardtop off my MX5 only twice since owning it

The word from the RTA though was not substantially different enough from a local model wasn't it? I wonder if I could do a numbers job on one (legally) and have it engineered as having had a full turret fitted?

Damn you make me jealous!

you could just buy one and cut the turret off!
and weld it to your own car!

you'd have to engineer it cause your rego will change but could be done!

Looks like more than just a turret though, either way, these things are so damn sweet!

You have taken yours off more times than me! I have once on the road, I seriously need to take that rag top off. God I love that hardtop version :D

Awesome :D
I finally get to see one of these things in the flesh. It's not the yellow, but it's better than not seeing one in the flesh at all.

Thanks for all your comments yesterday. It was great to catch up with those who who had been in touch and were now able to see the car in the flesh. 8)

At lunchtime we were able to do a few laps in the Coupe and it was terrific. You could certainly notice the additional chassis stiffness across the top.

Thanks to Mike Hicks for driving it down.

Hopefully we will be able to get it to Natmeet this year. As it clashes with the FOSC at Bathurst, Mike wont be able to take it but, there have been a few volunteers........

I wish I'd known... I got to the marshalling area as I saw the car coming round the back straight and come off into the pits :(

Were the laps timed? What did it get if they were?

Thanks for your emails and calls.

Just letting you know Rod and Zan Menzel will be taking the car to Natmeet so hopefully most of you will be able to see it in the flesh!!

The yellow one wont be finished by then but hopefully it will be back on the road in time for the next club track day at W/Park in April. 8)

Chris.

:O

I don't know what that is, but I sure as hell know I like it!!

Were these models actually produced by Mazda, or is it an aftermarket proposition?

Edit:
Just did a quick google search and found some info on these...seemingly one extremely rare (and extremely sexy) MX5.

I can't even imagine how hard that must have been to aquire?
