Depends on what your definition of 'sliding' and 'uncontrollably' are :P

Nah, it's more that when it happens by accident when I'm twitching the steering a little too much instead of going smooth (when not paying attention ie in peak hour traffic just trying to get to work and still half asleep [yes, it makes it sound like I don't pay attention on the roads, but I do, really!] ), the car can flick it's back out a little bit, and although I always catch it, I'd like more practice at it so I can catch it better without having the car twitch back to straight.

No official timing was done, only some stopwatch work on mobile phones.
It was too hard trying to get a clear run with all the traffic and put down something meaningful. I managed to get a couple of laps into the mid to high 13s before brake problems surfaced.

The new surface is nothing like I’ve dríven on before. It’s like driving on garnet paper. The D01s that normally end up with globs of melted rubber on their surface, ended up as smooth as a baby’s bum.

It was a good day. It was busy on the track though, with lots of cars in each session. Like the other have said, it was hard to get a clean lap (in my case, not so much that I was overtaking slower cars, I was one of the slower cars getting out of the way of the faster guys   )

Thanks to Mania for organising :D

I can't see any pics of your car in Alex's photos Ian? Or am I just not paying attention?

I think Alex might have been driving in the same session as I was, so he may not have been behind the camera when I was on track.

You sure?? If that's true then good job, the bell garage evo just did a 1:04 the day before and that thing's an absolute rocket, although street legal I think, not sure what tyres he was running.

As for times Phil would probably have been the quickest. Thanks Ian for timing me, very useful. I got a 1:15.2 a couple of times, but like Phill said there was alot of traffic. I found the track squidgy but you can use more of it now since its wide and smooth and can cut the ripples, you can see me kick up dust on occasion in the pics.

Ian you got a 1:22 or something didn't you, not bad mate, hope to see some pics of your car if Alex has some.

Yeah, fastest time was a 1:22 according to the trusty Nokia stopwatch. I'd like to go faster, I think I just need more practice... like getting to the track a bit more often 8)
