The SP motorsport make a nice intake as its a true CAI, unfortuantly its expensive and you will have to re-route the OEM IC pipping to run that intake for the SE.
Bolt on short ram intakes available for the SE come up under mazdaspeed. AEM make one and as do BEGi. If your SE doesnt have air con then flyin miata's short ram intake for the mazdaspeed will bolt straight on as well.
PS. Begi customer service and quality control isnt the best at times.

Injen was one the first companies to make a short ram intake for the mazdaspeed, unfortuantly there is a design fault with that intake causing air reversion back over the MAF. The return port for recirculated dump air is angulated incorrectly.
Its been brought by yank msm users and a few users have made a fix for it, however injen to this day wont acknowledge the problem. Its not a popular intake at all.

If you're gonna go for an Injen-type intake, then why not go for Weapon R.

I link the SP Motorsport one btw I am putting a bigger cooler in anyway..
I have been quoted $650 for the intake and $600 for the piping for the IC (I got to supply my own IC for that price.)
I know its expensive but from the photo it looks great.....
also any idea on the mania one ??? thanks a lot...

Mania re-sold the SP motorsport kit not sure if they are still doing that now.

The IC pipping from the SP motorsport kit wont bolt up to your average aftermarket IC. The hotside and cold side ports have U bends at different angles, you will require a custom made IC to fit up to the SP motosport IC pipping if you dont use there intercooler.
With the money your going to spend its going to cost you more then SP motorsport kit or typical custom job (air intake, IC and IC pipping).
Search the forum you will find that there are cheaper aftermarket alternatives (intake, cooler and exhaust) that produce a nice power increase for the SE.

I had a read of that site and OMG, what a load of toss that "test rig" is. If you plugged both plastic 3" tubes and ran the flow bench, you would get a large vacuum at zero flow. But they ay the larger the vacuum number the better!! They need a proper dynamic vs static pressure air flow meter or manometer. Don't buy it based on the stuff presented, it's rubbish.

thanks very much for tour kind advise..
I had a look around already on this forum and could not find any... any suggestion where should I looking 4 ??
btw SP want $1200 just for the IC and the piping and additoinal $650 for the intake kit.. the intake sounds like a fair go but the IC i think is a bit over price... mania can do it cheaper but I think he is re-using tje original piping and on the SE the original is a bit small and its rubber... thanks again..

THE REAL BORIS wrote:FM would not take a UK credit card (probably not the right intake for a stock vacuum system anyway).
Injen had the problem Blackster spoke of.
SP was too much money.
So, I recently ordered the AEM as advised.
Only $281 but "probably a little over $100 in shipping" I was told.
Ok send it.
No, sorry the shipping is $194, are you still interested.
Yup.
Sorry again, the shipping will be $364!
P*ss off says I.
Now I'm off to a local 5 specialist for my FM intercooler (they supplied & fitted my FM dump pipe) to canibalise an FM elbow and fit something that looks like this ........ http://www.performance5.com/images/work ... airbox.jpg

I know it's supercharged and LHD but you get the picture.
Has anyone ever thought of marketing an SP (Mazda dealers) air-box?
nice work they have done there.,.. whats wat I wanna see.... after hours of looking around I have set my mind to the Begi one... especially it comes with the air box..... as you know the NSW copppp S?X... and its always good to have the pod in the box I assume...
