Oh, the car was featured on Ignition DVD a couple of months ago :D

I'd boast about it a bit more but they have footage of my face on it too, which while hilarious is also quite humiliating. :lol:

No it's getting painted atm.

And then I have to work out how to get the lights working (think connections have rusted out)

And then I have to retrofit the early style numberplate lights which will be quite tricky.

And last but not least, I have to find the Daihatsu reverse light. Can't get one anywhere..........

There were a few import places in qld that were running Midgets as parts runners weren't there? Maybe one of them could help?


So Toyota parts desks can't help?

hey mate, was at the mx5 factory today and i saw your car there, it's looking good, apprently you had some colour matching done :wink:

Nope, Toyota parts desk said they could only look up parts for models sold in Aus. The part number apparently is in a different format.

Yes I've seen a few Midgets back up in QLD. I have shot off emails to parts importers all over the world, no luck so far. Might try a couple from QLD to see if I get lucky.

Cheers mate. Yeah I had a bit done as well as painting this panel. As soon as I get a reverse light I can install it.
