Caliper is now off the car and the top slider pin wont come out of the hole and when i turn it the thread just loosens by about 270degrees and thats it.
Think I may have to take it to ABS in the morning and get them to recondition it

Hey Andrew, I spent 20 minutes rebuilding two rear calipers today! The only way I have removed one is WD-40, some heat and some \"attitude adjusting\" with a small brass faced hammer. About two months ago, I had the same issue on the front left of the NB8B - luckily I had a couple of spare sliders as one was pitted and no good. A good reminder for all to regrease the sliders at least when you change pads. moreso important if you do track days.

On the rear, there is a 10mm combo bolt/slider and a slider on the other end. Must undo the 10mm one to seperate the caliper from the mounting bracket. Use high temp brake grease - I use one from Repco that is PBR branded. Most hi temp moly lubes are OK - thin smear is all you need on each slider.

Casey had the same issue recently. I believe he had a brake shop sort it out for him. Same happened to me on a NA6, I ended up getting a 2nd had caliper from a wreckers. It is fairly common on our rear brakes. Pays to re-lube the slider pin on a regular basis. I have been using high temp grease, but have also seen specific brake grease in some auto shops.

It took about an hour to get mine out when it seized but the way I sorted it out was to slide an open end spanner into the gap so the open end was over the slider pin and then try to lever it out a bit. Then when the gap was big enough I put another one in next to it and kept levering it with wedges between the spanners.
