So what happened here? Did the person who doesn't show up, just not even organise the drive for himself for him not to turn up to? Too busy pining away for a Titanium SE?

:P

i have not been on a run for about a year or so.

For some reason I am imagining a pigeon flying across a rifle range....

It is about 80ks of mostly unpatrolled road between Windsor and the Hunter Valley near Singleton. There are a few straight bits mixed with several 10km sections of sustained 25km/h to 55/km/h recommended corners. It is real MX5 and biker country. Just avoid going at night unless you want to wear a wombat or roo. It is also mostly free of tourist traffic etc...

yep best time to do it is always sat AM. Thats my own experience too.
6am or 6.30 am take off from Windsor. very little traffic. Sundays is a shocker especially if you leave it until after 9am.

Night drives along the putty are thrilling & dangerous bit like a russian roulette as far as the flora & fauna goes. Not a good idea. But you can be lucky. But also unlucky.

From McGrath Hill maccas....its about 140-150 km to the Broke turn off. or about 190k's to Wollombi. Some exceptional twistie bits around Colo Hts & about 20km before the Broke turn off.

Road between Broke & wollombi is great too but lots of cattle.
Its a long drive I usually expect 380km for the round trip. Last time I went. The biker I went with ran out of fuel. luckily we were just a few km outside of Broke. So fill up before you go.

The halfway house is always a great place for a regroup but the coffee sux.

I'd love to do another putty road drive. But it ain't going to work for me in the near future. Nor for Craig. I guess his big days at work are the weekend.

word of warning. Putty road is always dangerous.....one particular corner 28km past the half way house.....watch out. 35 Km/h left hander it doesn't finish where you expect it to. Lots of people here know the road extreemly intermately. Give putty the respect it deserves.

Baron likes to get the morning paper......... at Singleton

another piece of advice.....don't loose your diff bolt on the putty
Image

you'll never hear the end of it.

Last time I took a noob to the putty he never really totally recovered mentally.

all I remember were all huddled around his engine bay laughing and being mesmorised by his Red hot Turbo at the half way house.

mind you that car is now one of my favourite NA's.
