Kula's NA6

Postby kula » Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:52 pm

so here's my NA6

Image

aussie spec, 1989 model, I think its the 247th MX-5 built for export:)

bought dead standard about 2 years ago now,

Image

with 290000kms on it.. (just run in)

some of the mods:

re-coed calipers
Image

with NA8 discs, brackets and the amazing castrol SRF brake fluid
Image

Now its running Hawk HP+ pads front and rear, and has Goodridge braided brake lines all round.

here it is impersonating a star wars land speeder:
Image

some of the lightening mods I've done are:
removal of air con
removal of tow hooks
removal of carpet
removal of sound deadening/insulation

removal of soft top:
Image

craft square mirrors:
Image

stripped interior, painted with fridge paint:
Image

Image

Sparco sprint bucket seat:
Image

momo prototipo wheel:
Image

Superpro bushes (all of them):
Image

Chargespeed carbon fibre bonnet:
Image

Mazda clear repeater indicators and reflectors:
Image

Heres under the hood, very standard for now:
Image

I have magnacore leads and a JDM ECU, not sure how much if any power its added... but on the dyno it made 66rwkW.

I've tried to take out as much weight as possible, but I've added a fair bit in:

Cusco side braces:
Image

Cusco rear underbody brace:
Image

also have Cusco front under body and front strut top with integrated brake master cylinder brace.

flyin miata underbody chassis brace:
Image

Brown Davis roll bar:
Image

Work meister wheels 15x8:
Image

It was running Kumho Ecsta rubber, but now has the awesome

Bridgestone Potenza RE-001 Adrenalin:

Image

Image

Image

With RAYS Duralium lightweight locknuts.

Also recently fitted an NA8 upgraded rear end with a Kaaz LSD.

so I think soon it will be time for some more power...
so a HKS turbo kit has landed, just piecing together some bits like an intercooler and ECU, but its almost together ;)

having some fun:

Love that last photo the most Mark!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
