I wonder if the video camera was automatically managing the peak sound level. You can hear the difference but the over all volume didn't seem too much quieter. 
I guess we can't expect too much of an over all difference because that would be very restrictive and the muffler would need to be much larger.

it is a lot different in real life rather then the camera, i filmed it with a normal camera not a video camera so the sound isn't that great, the closed version actual sounds a lot quieter in real life. its very handy being able to close it. i was at the traffic lights yesterday and a cop pulled up next to me so i shut it and they couldn't tell.

Thats pretty awesome. I guess the only problem I have with it is the 'fully sick' cannon look it has.... The driving video sounded awesome, but it sounded pretty average when it was closed in the second video.
