hey guys, been looking at some 15x8 wheels but some friends of mine said its going to be tough finding any decent rubber for them. Just wondering if this is true and if you had any idea of prices and tyre suggestions?

I think 225/45/15 is the right size and I'm pretty sure Kumho are the only ones who do that size in oz, correct if I'm wrong here.

yep, very happy with mine in this size, haven't used them on the track as yet but for road use I'm very happy with them for a R spec tyre.
you can also get Avon CR500's in a 245/40 x15 size, I've used these on a Lotus 7 but not the 5 as yet so not sure on any fitment issues.

I’m not sure of the road regs in WA but here in the eastern states that rim is illegal for the road on an NA and NB8A.
This has been discussed in many other threads. Maximum width +25mm (1â€) over standard rim. Maximum increase in track 25mm, hence an offset 12mm change to the rim.
Your other problem besides needing to flare the guards is that it will stuff the handling. Read up on bump steer.

If its for track work, 205/50 (say in D01 or A048) are supposed to sit nice and square on an 8 inch rim, but a 225/45 is workable. I bought the 949racing 15x8's that were talked about here a while back and they say that there will be no rubbing on an mx5 with 225/45/15's. I plan to run 205's on the front and 225's on the back though.

Honestly It would be a waste of money if you get works meisters in +0 offset. Works meisters will be a custom wheels anyway, so get an offset that won't ruin your car handling.
Im not saying get the standard, safe n boring offset, push it out a lil bit...but 0 offset will be wayyyyy out.
Get Sportmaxx 002 if really want 0 offset, its a lot cheaper.
