Roll bar installation

Postby 16bit » Sun Jan 27, 2008 8:41 am

Well yesterday I purchased this roll bar.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mazda-MX5-Rollba ... dZViewItem

I have installed it and it looks great. Scuttle has reduced greatly and the over all feel is a bit better.

However I had a great deal of trouble getting the holes drilled for the rear or higher brackets so I just left them un bolted.

My question is could I get the rear brackets welded in. And if so any ideas on where I could get it done on the cheap? I am in brisbane for those with welders wondering how they could help me.

Hi there, I'll be at my workshop tomorrow from around 10am onwards. I'm happy to see if we can get the holes you need for rollbar to remain a bolt-in assembly, otherwise, Mr Welder can assist!

PM me if you want the address (@ Geebung).

Cheers,
Danny

btw thanks to danny for sorting out getting the rear dooies bolted in.

I have not got it working but found the problem. A wire has been 'nicked' - for lack of a better word - on the passanger side. Should not be too much trouble to get it re wired. Not sure what its doing to the electrical system but the cabin light fuse blew when i had it on tonight. So yeah all in the process of being sorted.

Was that wire anywhere near where we were working?

yeah next to the passanger side pole. looks like its just had a small run in with the air tool. I will get a closer look at it on the weekend and just solder in a replacement section.

That's weird as the air tool was only on when drilling the holes.....is the wire completely broken in half?
