official SUMMERSLAM/MCCA cruise to Heathcote this Saturday

Postby sprx3 » Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:53 pm

As you may know I have been speaking with Ray Box, director of the Sports Compact Group (organiser of Jamboree) regarding this years SUMMER SLAM on the 2nd of Feb at Heathcote raceway.

Ray has asked me to put together the official cruise From Melbourne to Heathcote again this year. Last year was a great event & we had about 30 cars cruise up to Heathcote together. This year I would like everyone to show their support for the best small car drag racing event in Victoria & join us in the cruise up to Heathcote.

If you have never been to Heathcote it is about 1.5 hours from Melbourne heading towards Bendigo & a great drive. Its normally very sunny there so please bring some sun screen & a hat other wise you might be complaining about getting burnt on the day……

If your asking why you should come here are a few good reasons

The likes of the PAC crew will be there including Australia’s fastest rotary powered MX6 & many customer cars

Infact instead of telling you about each & every vehicle that will be there you can find the current list of entries in which you can do your own research on on this link http://www.jamboree.com.au/round1-08entrantList.php

(I’ve also been told that there are a few more high interest cars that need to be put on the list so stay tunned)

If this is not reason enough, you can also race your own car, put you pride & joy in the show & shine or if you’re a member of the MCCA put it in the club display & if your wheels are good enough come out with a prize or two.

The knowledge that will be at Heathcote on the day will be huge & if your thinking of going further with your car all the right people will be there to give you any advise you may want & could normally only get over the phone or by travelling interstate or you may want to catch up with our local guys & support them hopefully through to the finals.

Either way it would be as Sam Kekovic would say UNAUSTRALIAN not to be there.

So put your hand up & join us on what we plan to be the biggest longest line of cars ever to cruise on the Hume Hwy (optimistic I know) but if we don’t try we will never know & may never get the chance to do it again.

On a real note If we don’t support this years Summer Slam Ray will have no other option but to cancel the event in the future which would leave us Melbournites no other option but to travel interstate just to see the line up of cars we have coming to US at the moment, so don’t be a goose support the event that comes to you & lets make sure we secure its place in the future so we have a great event to go to every year without fail.

The meeting point will be at a 7.30am with an 8am SHARP departure from the corner of DONNYBROOK & HUME HWY Kalkallo at the SHELL servo.

Now for the deal to MCCA members

Ray has been kind enough to give the members of the MCCA a discount if you would like to enter you vehicle in any of the following events

Show & Shine

Racing

Club display

He has also reduced the entry price for spectators for anyone from the mcca that just wants to watch…..

So not to be outdone by Ray, MCCA have decided to give you these great specials if you decide to join the mcca on the day, if you do join on the day, bring your entry form/ticket to the MCCA stand & we will reduce the MCCA membership fee by the amount that Ray has discounted to our members…….

So once again, support the teams that support you by joining the MCCA & coming to the 2008 SUMMER SLAM

NEW meeting point is at Hungry Jacks on the corner of Sydney Road and Camp Road, about 100 metres North of the Western Ring Road. This would allow cars coming from the East, the West, and the City to all meet in a suitable spot on the way. I will be there from just before 9 and leaving at 9:30
