But did you blow though the top port to check to see if it was leaking? If it wasn't leaking then it wont solve your problem

yeh i did...... there is a very minor leak :frown: :cry:
Garry is there a website where you purchase the EGR valve?

Yes, mine had a minor leak too, from the stem of the valve out around the spring area.

I got a used one from Mania for $100. It was a bit dirty but didn't leak.

I think you can get them from Trusville Mazda in the US or similar who advertise on the Miatanet site. They are about $US125 plus the usual $9787675434 shipping charge.

if anyone does need a direct replacement 02 for the nb the denso part number is 234-4235 & can be landed for under $200 A.U from the states, if you need more info I can give you details of where i got mine from.... You can also get the same sensor cheaper alot without the plug........

ahh finally block the EGR and the idle went away!!!


still got this problem of having a flat spot between 1000-3000 rpm

me too, figured that was factory fitted :(
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
