For the cost of a rear brack compared to a front one (and the pain they are to fit) they are not really worthwhile

There is alot of metal between the two rear towers compared to the front so the difference if any would not be noticeable

FWIW I was intrigued about how effective they were so I put some wet paint on one side of mine ramed a bit of foam under the end ofthe bar and went for a drive
the end of the bar pushed the wet paint approx 6-8mm so there is definatly movement there

for thinking outside the square this is my one same as normal design that I make but has trangle braces back to fire wall with rear backing plate behind.

I used to incorporate a brake master cylinder stopper in the brace as well but I only did that on a few and I couldn't tell you who has those ones these days!

Mickfred has a modified whiteline one (so it fitted properly) and we also put a stopper on it too!

I'll see if I can find more pics

Single hoop style bar 2.0 inch

all of these are options to help stiffen up the car other than doing the rear strut brace
FWIW I havn't ever made one nor been asked too because I don't see the point

Wow that Moss rear brace looks exactly like the one in my car I got from LF performance.

Made bugger all difference, but I already had the Brown Davis roll bar etc.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

LOL I just purchased that exat rear strut brace from ES86 5 min ago...

Image

I dont have a roll bar so hopefully I will notice some sort of difference. Fingers crossed I notice a difference otherwise Ill get a roll bar...

Is it difficult to install?

(Im thinking I have to take the two bolts out that hold the shocks then put the brace in then bolt it back together again??)

I have the RB version sitting on my garage wall (I think I got it off Lou with a few RB bits). The NBs have a bar across the back under the diff so don't require the extra stiffening the NAs do.

Nope I know exactly where it is. I have to lean on it every time I raise the roof from the cockpit.

I just installed the rear strut brace...

Image

Was a pain to install I will have to cut the fuel shield to make it fit in the car again. Hopefully all boot trim will fit back in ok...

I will drive it reefton spur tomorow and see if I notice any difference...
