My car does the same thing although I don't have the blow off valve. I have been told by what I consider to be relative experts that a BOV will not completely eliminate that noise. To completely get rid of it you would need to install an airbox and get rid of the pod filter. I'm led to believe that it is because I have the intercooler and the noise of the air coming back through the pod filter is what causes it. Sometimes I love it but other times I would like it to be more stealthy. Catch 22

A softer BOV spring will get rid of the noise but may cause a delay in building boost. I had the same turbo on my NA8 till i sold the setup
and will go with the same turbo again as it was the best all round turbo.
I used a Ebay BOV and cut the spring down till it had a small amount of seat pressure.
