Umm...

Is this going to be a challenging run?

I'm very interested, but I'm a little concerned that I may not be ready for a challenging run. Like I always tell people, I drive a bit like an old grandma.

Fredbareoz, do you have any advice for people like me?

Cheers,
Alf

From the club web site -

Reefton Spur midnight run ... a reprise of the very popular midnight run up the Reefton Spur road. A very challenging run, best suited for advanced drivers (even in daylight). Click here for flyer (PDF, 174KB) ...

Al,

hope to be there, can finally (7weeks later)drive the 5 again after 3 broken ribs, two cracked elbows.

Looking forward to a good drive, certainly can't get one done the GOR at this time of the year.Plus I need to show my support for \"challenging runs\".

Alf....

maaaaaaaate

yeah, look i suppose it may be a challenge... for you not to bury the right foot into the carpet!
Mate, but if its a problem, you could always drop to the back of the convoy, like most sensible people would do.......
That said i expect to see you and freddy somewhere close behind me.
Look forward to seeing you all soon,
Hope my 2008 gets better real soon, what with 1 car accident and losing a good friend to cancer all in the first week it aint shaping up to be a great year so far.
Andrew, will we see you next weekend?

I know quite a few highly/extremely competent female drivers/riders so I don't think
there is any correlation between ones gender and ones driving ability. As with riding
a motorbike, ALWAYS drive/ride within your ability/comfort zone. And have fun!
This a challenging run on a number of levels, the main one being that it is at night.
Combine that with twisty (unfamiliar?) roads, wildlife and being held-up by Big Als
big black mobile chicane
makes this different to a daylight cruise.
IIRC you drove fairly well at Juffa's 2006 first run of summer.
which reminds me..have you decided to become a VIC club member yet?

No still not a signed up *BLUSH*.

I try not to be over confident and cocky about my driving ablity as thats a sure fire way for me to end up wrapped around a telegraph pole. I dont seriously think my gender makes me any less competent then a male driver... I ment it more as a figure of speech. But its nice to hear a vote of confidence from those wiser and more experianced then myself. Stu might disagree after co-piolting with me down the GOR though.
