Power Antenna

Postby End User » Fri Dec 28, 2007 1:23 am

A good friend of mine installed a Sony Headunit (Xmas present) in my NA8 the day before he went on Holidays to Vietnam.
Head unit works great, but I've noticed that the power antenna no longer works. The antenna no longer pops up when I turn the ignition on. I've looked in the boot, and everything seems to be plugged in. Does some part of the antenna need to plug into the headunit?

there should be an antenna wire in the car which needs to be plugged into the trigger wire on the headunit

Assuming the unit has a trigger wire for the antenna.

Otherwise, just wire the antenna to the accessory power. This results in the antenna raising when you have the key to \"acc\" and lowering whenever it's in \"off\".

This makes sense, and I think that's how it was setup before, except I have no idea how to locate the accessory power, or how to connect the antenna to it. Anyone got a link to a step by step guide with pictures?

There's a few guides around on both this forum and on miata.net. I personally can't remember them, nor do I feel in the mood for searching around for them :P

Suffice it to say, enough of us have done (including myself) it that someone will be able to help you out (except me at the moment... too lazy to explain it and I've already spent the past 3 days working on the car :P )
