gear knob thread size and pitch. Possible GB VERY SOON :)

Postby Steampunk » Thu Dec 27, 2007 11:33 am

Going by the fact that all the Voodoo knobs organised by NMX516 fitted all models, does anyone know the thread size/pitch?

I want to organise a gb very soon.

Cheers

PS: this is what I want to get -

PPS: comes in brushed aluminium, and I think a lighter gunmetal grey. google it - Skunk2 shift knob

Skunk2s look awesome, I was looking at them before too :)

But they're more of a Honda part, so I shied away from getting one for an MX5 haha

Interesting... I wouldn't mind seeing one in the flesh.

I was looking at getting a voodoo, but that looks nice. Although I like the shortness and simplicity of the voodoo.

Would the weight make a difference, ie: voodoo lighness makes the shift more \"mechanical\"? True? and this is marketed as a heavier option, so....?

With it being summer have any of the Voodoo GB'ers found the alloy knob to be a problem?

Price pending i'ld be interested in this GB

Andrew, is there anything you DON'T know? 8) thanks mate. Thankfully it's the same thread pattern as Nissan and Mistubishi.

As with it being a \"Honda\" part, have you never drooled over the Type R's and S2000? I certainly have. The gear knob mimics the one in the older model Integra Type R and I think S2000.

Weight is 440 grams, and it's a personal choice as to preference with a light or heavy knob.
I prefer a heavier knob, as to me, the shift is easier. I used to have a very light aluminium knob and didn't really notice the difference going from heavy to light, but VERY tangible going from light to heavy. Go figure.

Prices (if I buy just one for myself) is about $40USD and $12USD shipping.
