VIC ADR Engineer for modified MX5?

Postby hamish71 » Thu Dec 20, 2007 9:41 am

As is in evidence in other parts of this forum, I am in the process of building up a NB MX5, with turbo. I intend doing this properly. Can anyone advise of a suitable engineer that they have used for certification?

Get the list off the VicRoads website and call around.

From what I recall talking to a few about engine swaps (1.8 into 1.6) Frank Fordham (I think) was OK to deal with, but I never took it any further than a phonecall...

Bill Malkoutzis is doing my SR20det conversion.
Great to deal with and the only one who would touch it.
You still need to get the epa certification done and about the only ones who do it are http://www.vipac.com.au/ .
You are looking at between $1500 and $3k per test pass or fail.
Good luck with it and let us know how you go.

Had already got the list from vicroads. Franks response was a little confusing:
\"The modifications you propose are outside the guidelines for a vehicle manufactured in 2001 and as such I am not able to assist you.\"

I will try Bill.
