Not %100 sure but it sounds similar to Irwin's problem. He had intermittent power loss. Turned out the connection to his CAS sensor was dodgy. He literally used a wire tie on the triple treat last year at wakefield and his issue was completely gone. Something to consider anyway.

If it turns out to be the fuel pump and you decide to get a Walbro one then be prepared for a bit more noise. My fuel pump had to be replaced a few weeks ago and I can hear it over the stereo when I'm not moving.

Well it happened again this time with me driving it 8)

Here is the sequence of events:

- approx 30 minutes into the trip with A/c on and fan on 2 with no other accessories running and light traffic.

- stitting at light and started to move off and felt a slight 'hic-up'

- very little power to move the car and would rev even in neutral and would only rev between 500 - 1500rpm in a sort of surging fashion no matter what position the accellerator pedal was is.

- eventually it just seamed to die.

- trying to re- start it and it took three to four times as many cranks to get it to fire and even then it would only run for perhaps 10 seconds at the most and wouldnt rev as before.

- left it for about 10 minutes with the bonnet up and then it started and ran fine all the way home approx another 45 minutes.

Thought anyone :?:

I'm thinking coil pack(s) :!:

chuck a bottle of water in with you & take it out again andrew, when it does its thing, just douse the coils to cool them & see if it'll go.................did you lay the back of your hand (tougher than the palm) on the coils to see how much heat was in them??

i'm betting coils

Best of luck.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Spot on Garry - just read it myself and thought "that sounds like Agro's issue". Would be great to think it is so cheaply fixed!

Yes saw that late last night.

I spoke to the service manager at Sylvias dealership whilst the fault was occuring and he also thought it was the coil packs as well.

We'll be pricing the CAS today as well.

They have just been able to pull a fault code from the car and the CAS is failing.

Good news... now can they go close to the UK's price for the CAS?
