N/A power and torque for NA8 and NB8

Postby nissky » Thu Dec 13, 2007 3:12 pm

What is a realistic amount of power/torque that one could get out of a NA8 and NB8 without forced induction? (Street dríven not a race car)
What mods would be required?
How much?

Racing Beat exhaust, Mania ECU and home made CAI on my car and Daniel said it's a bit over 91kw atw. With Cam's as well you'd be close to 100kw atw. That's an NB8B. I didn't ask the torque numbers, I didn't even get a dyno graph at the time.

So does look about right?

Rear muffler- straight through 2 1/4inch $390
Cat - $200
Headers - $480
Cold Air intake - $250
Cams - $700 ($160 install) are cam gears required?
Mania Ecu - $1995

Are there cheapers ecu's that would work, for the above mods?

If you don't have VCT, a $1000 EMS stinger will get you the same power, or a $1800 Haltech E8 will give you data logging and expandability....depends what you really want.
