Surely there must be figures for a highly-tuned Honda S2000 which would be the most you could expect from an NA 2L.

What about those late 90's British Touring Cars?

All comes down to how much money you want to spend and what you want to do with it,you can build a 2 litre engine for an open wheeler that has no torque and huge power,or look at the old Super touring cars that were 2 litre and they reckon were around 300hp.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

300bhp they got - you can get more out of an s2000 motor. buy the toda catalogue for it and you would probably get 330ish hp on 100ron. or you could spend a quater of the money an supercharge it for more hp and torque.

QFT. also depends on how long you want it to last. $ = 1/lifetime

Yes, those super tourer motors had a limited life of a few thousand kays before you had to rebuild them.

you can get about 330hp out of a 2.5 cosworth motor na. but these are race motors that are built to last a round of racing only.
