Centre console-Radio surround panel Removal

Postby pcmx5 » Wed Dec 05, 2007 9:11 am

I have taken out the centre consule(gearshift surround ) many times(eg to put a short shifter in) but now need to remove the upper(radio surround) section.

I have had a look in the usual garage sections etc but have had no luck in finding any directions.

Can anyone direct me to some or give a rundown on what is required?

Thanks,

Peter.

You need to remove the 2 centre air vents. There are 2 screws hidden behind them. All the other screws are obvious. After you remove the screws there are a couple of clips on the side. The hardest part is removing the centre vents.

Or I could come over to your place and for a small fee (4 X new wheels) I could do it for you. :)

i did all of the above only to find that the factory headunit had to be removed as well on my 97 model.

5 mins to get the vents & screws out, 30+ mins to get the factory radio out :x
