There's 2 switches on the clutch, sounds like it's wired into the incorrect one AJ! :?

You mght be able to adjust the engagement point of the clutch pedal switch. You realy want the cruise to disengage while the clutch is still gripping strongly, otherwise you'll be hammering the rev limiter.


yep casey, once i realised what it was like, i either just tap the brake pedal or use the steering wheel controls :)

Casey, you've got me a bit worried here - you mentioned
\"You shouldn't (generally) install vacuum actuated CC on a forced induction car - you should instead be using a stepper motor acuated CC with FI. For this reason Mazda dealers wouldn't fit CC to SPs....\"
You also recommend the Auscruise system...

I have a 2nd hand Auscruise AC3400 vacuum system I was just about to install on my SP - will this do the job & do I need to add the reservoir & one way valve you mention ? And did you use a new CC wiring loom or just connect to the old one ?

Or, did you fit the Auscruise fly by wire system ?

would be greatful for any insight you can offer a novice !

I've got one on mine and it's a different arm to the wiper arm. It's a third arm set below the wiper arm.

You'll definitely need the reservoir and check valve. You could check the Auscruise website to find a distributor in your area. The Auscruise reservoir has an inbuilt one-way valve.

Mine was installed by the local Canberra distributor, but I presume they used the Auscruise loom. The fly-by-wire version only suits cars with electronic throttles (like the NC, Mazda 3 and 6, RX8, etc)

thanks Casey, rather deal with it now than find the unit not being able to maintain the set speed up hills later.
