Ipod / Aux adaptor for NC
Hi,
I previously had an AUX adaptor I'd stuck in my NB8B Head unit which I used to run my Ipod through.
I know it's been discussed before but search isn't working.
Is there a similar Auxmod plug for the NC or can you actually get an ipod module which will allow you to navigate through your ipod by way of the controls on the steering wheel.
Also... has anyone managed to pass an additional power supply in their NC. I had managed to pass a cable directly from the boot to the front of the car for my NB which meant my Ipod / GPS would charge without having to use the Cigarette lighter. I'm assuming this would be a little trickier in the NC?
Thanks

I don't even own an Ipod . I'm thinking about it, but 6 CDs and the radio generally keep me going. Mind you, the selling dealer lied to me and told me that the car had a 6 disc MP3 player as standard equipment
Get the AudioLink one from mxparts.co.uk, it allows the iPod to show video and accept input from it's own controls while connected, which the OEM one doesn't. I have one in my MY07 r/c. You can then control the iPod from the steering wheel or stereo headunit controls.
It's also way cheaper than the OEM one, and not too hard to install (plugs into the stacker port on the back of the OEM Bose head unit).
I have a surplus to requirements 30gb iPod if you're interested JBT

Thanks for the advice.
That's the one I was looking at.
I've heard some of the MP3 labelled sound systems aren't actually MP3 based, but you can pay (as an optional extra) to have an MP3 one fitted (i think they share the same face plates)
Mine's the bose sound system with 6 stacker CD, so I am assuming this adapter would allow the CD stacker and Ipod to work simultaneously, i.e I don't want to unplug the stacker and render it useless just to replace it with an Ipod?
based on comments above - it plugs into the stacker??
Thanks
Yes, that's the one I got.
Note that there is another one listed on that site here:
http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id/971
Which is for non-iPods, don't get that one if you have an iPod. Good if you just want to plug in a USB storage device instead though.
The stock Bose 6-stacker is an in-dash unit, so it doesn't use the external stacker port. I have my iPod connected, and there's no change in the normal cd stacker function.

Wow. Thanks
Why would anyone want the following capability?
New to this model is the option to output the video of an iPod Video through a RCA cable.

Has anyone seen/used/got comments regarding an XcarLink MP3 adapter? It appears to be a clone (inferior?) of the Audio Link AL2005U MP3 adapter.
I received this XcarLink thing after ordering an Audio Link unit.
When queried, the supplier told me that they are both from the same manufacturer and are the same thing.......not so sure about that and can find no information to back up the claim. At this stage, you could say that I am not happy Jan.
