Where to source four 2002 strut mounts/bump stops and boots?

Postby Jaxom_2 » Tue Nov 27, 2007 9:29 pm

Hi All, I purchased a set of KYB AGX's from America (jdmwerks - Au$480.00 delivered), a set of four King Springs ($268.00 - including a set of spring compressors), now I want to get a full set of strut mounts/boots/bump stops etc. so I can build the struts and keep the original (good condition IMHO - only 44km) struts as complete units.
BIG shock   when i went to Mazda to price them!! , they want $178.00/corner for the bits and pieces - FFS!!!
I checked a Mazda dealer site in the USA and the parts come to US$218.00 Plus delivery, but the catch is they don't ship out of US/Canada. :( :( after much internet searching, I haven't been able to source them anywhere else for a reasonable (to me) price. Does anyone have a store/site/contact that can help me out here?

Thanks for that SuperMazdaKart, I'd actually been thinking of getting the FCM boots and bump stops, it's the strut mounts that are the big problem, seem to be loads of 90-97 available, just having troubles sourcing the 2001-2005 ones at a reasonable price.

Silly question, why the need to retain the stock units as one piece?

It's a reasonable question Juffa. :D
a few reasons.
Habit for 1 I suppose, from my time with the mg-b. I would always shelve the original parts whenever I went away from standard bits. The person who bought it from me wanted to put it on Historic rego. so all oem parts included helped the sale.
2. As a quick changeover back to original if I ever get defected.
3. I'm lazy, don't want to do too much work if 2. happens

Hokay, just the strut mounts to get now. Ordered the FCM Stops and Boots.

Ok, fair enough...I suspected that was the case. As for the mounts. Are you referring to the upper mounts, where the damper attaches to the car body. If so I might have them in my shed. These are for the NA,('89 to '97) so I'm not sure if they will fit your NB?

NB are different to NA. The NB ones are shorter to allow for more suspension travel.
