Does the wolf have some basic maps for the mx-5, or have you downloaded any. Without the basic settings configured into the new ECU it will have no idea how much fuel to feed. I assumed that yu have double checked that everything is wired up correctly? Is the fuel pump running? If you pull a spark plug is it wet from fuel, whcih would indicate flooding.

Does the map allow for the 550cc injectors, and the bigger pump. Between those two items you are gong to be able to pump a serious amount of fuel. I'm running the standard pump and 330cc injectors on 9 pounds of boost and I'm getting plenty of fuel at boost, if anything I'm running too rich on boost.....must get to a dyno.

I have a t25 turbo, 330cc high impedance injectors, standard fuel pump, Flyin' Miata/Link ECU. Running 9 pounds of boost. Being a MX-5 specific ECU I was able to load a map whcih was very close to my requirements then I have been auto tuning it with the aid of a wideband o2 sensor.

Hi Juffa,

What duty cycle are you at with the 330's ?

I'm just making some calcs for when my 305's go in to see if they can go to 9 psi with the T25. 8) (currently a lowly 6psi) :P

Not sure of the exact %, but it is lower than I expected and is lower than the maximum 80% that is usually the recommended upper limit.

Ok, when you removed the MAF did you bridge the fuel pump terminal in its harness?

No means no fuel pump?

When i fitted my plugin, i had the same prob until i bridged the plug then it had fuel.

I'll post a pic of my plug tonite to show whats bridged.

If you can hear the pump running you should have fuel in the rail, have you confirmed this?

Another prob is endless cranking as this will burn the coils out and hence no spark.

With ignition on (reds) the pump will prime to pressurise the fuel lines for about 2 seconds.

Does your car have a connector with a cover labelled \"Diagnostics\" behind the passenger headlight, where the AFM used to live? (or close by)

It should have a drawing on the inside labelling F/P and GND, bridge that and you should have the fuel pump on continuously.

I thought this only applied to the 1.6 engines with the flapper style AFM

If it applies to you then you may need to put a bridge in the MAF plug as a more permanent fix.

The 1.8 NA uses the computer to turn on the fuel pump so there is no nead to bridge any terminals

I rang Rob at Wolf he explained that it might be a setting on the wolf computer that needs activating. The crank angle sensor or cam sensor.

Fuel is getting to the rail ok but the plugs are dry, they are sparking. So fuel is not getting through the injectors. I have a feeling this is all controlled by the computer.

Will let the pro look at it.

Realistically it could be anything. Had a problem with a mates car that we couldn't work out. Turned out the connections to the injectors were corroded to the point that a connection wasn't made on any of the injector connections. Or it would be a setting in the computer or it could be CAS signal issue or ... . Have you got the software setup on a laptop. Hooking it up (do not change any variables unless you know what they are) and checking all the stuff like that the computer is picking up a CAS signal (will display what RPM the motor is at whilst cranking). Also pulling the spark plugs and checking for spark and checking injectors for firing etc. Diagnosing problems like these can be major head farks.
