I'm planning an oil change now and thought I'd buy them rather than the imported Mazda or K&N. If there's no reason why the local ones wouldn't be good, why buy anything else and support Aust companies.

Alot of the ryco filters are made in israel but they do come from a few other places like south africa and new zealand.
As far as the aftermarket filters go, as far as I am aware the ryco is probably one of the most highly regarded. AFAIK all of them should have anti drainback valves.
