What is it hunting? Wabbits? Commodores? Girls in short skirts?

A little more info might be useful in diagnosing the problem.

I think he's talking about ithe infamous \"idle droop\"

Try resetting the base idle speed and if that doesn't work try cleaning your throttle body idle bypass air passages then resest your base idle speed again.

It can be very hard to elimintate, just ask eggbox. He's been chasing a fix for his car for ages.

I have a '93 build NA8 too and I can't recall anything like what is described.
Give it a good revving in 1st and 2nd, to 6,000rpm, several times when taking off.

I blame all mx problems to one of two things;
-Spark plug leads
-Rattly exhaust shields

Go the former.
