Huh? What cooling isues with SPs on the track?![]()
I am surprised with how cool mine stays on the track even with the $2 mod (and therefore a boost increase) in place. I even went and installed a real water temp gauge because I didnt believe the factory "dead spot" version, but even the linear gauge shows a fairly constant temp.
More serious units like Mania's I can understand though, they are running considerably more boost than us.
The two Carco SP replicas (one just over and the other just under 200kW) running 1:09s and 1:11s at Wakefield don’t seem to be having any cooling issues aside from the power steering. Indeed one of the Canberra SPM kitted SEs has also had power steering cooling issues, but no other problems.
The two Carco SP replicas also only run SE radiators – a lot cheaper then the (bigger) SP PWR radiator.
FWIW my SP with the $2 mod and Chiptorque re-map (runs a modest 1:13) has never had a cooling issue, power steering or otherwise.
