Special Delivery from the UK

Kuntry Kuzzin is coming to Sydney next week to (amongst other things) get a bit of suspension work done to his NC. He ordered a set of alloy sway bars from MX5PartsUK and they were delivered to me seeing as I'm going to be fitting them.

They look like a very high quality bit of gear. The best looking aftermarket sways I've seen. They even have the little shoulders on the front bar like the factory bar to stop it moving sideways. And maybe the best bit, they are bigger than stock yet still weigh 40% less than stock.

If they perform even half as good as they look I'll be very impressed.

Not as stiff as the Whitelines but KK will find they still transform the NC.
I would hate to try and follow KK up the Oxley after this addition.
Man he can peddle around corners.

The Whitelines better be stiffer, they weigh heaps compared to the originals :roll:

I'm currently on soft setting on front and middle at rear. I reckon they can be stiffer still.

These aluminium are way light and if they are as stiff, they may be a better bet.

The UK bars claim to be 35% stiffer.
The Whitelines, set on "soft" are 67% stiffer for the fronts and 129% stiffer for the rears.

I also have them set soft front, medium rear. I'm tempted to try full hard for the next Wakefield outing in February. Be interesting to see if it stays on the track.

Thats interesting CB. The Mazdaspeed/Eibachs are only supposed to be 28% stiffer than stock

Hey CB, please let us know if the hard setting has more understeer. Do you have stock springs? I'm thinking of going to H&Rs, but they drop more than the legal limit and I really don't want to be scraping anything....

Not sure what you are talking about CB, I only ever drive like an old woman. For that reason i probably wont be able to tell the difference with the new bars, I just had to buy them to make Garry jealous and a couple of other reasons which I wont go into on here.

Well they are installed. You'll have to wait for a drive review from Kuntry Kuzzin.

What a bitch of a thing the plastic under tray is to get off. I thought the NA/NB's were a pain. They are nothing compared to the NC. Mazda has done a really good job to keep the weight down on the NC. There is an aweful lot more steel underneath the car than the earlier models.

Behind the grill there are 2 air scoops either side of the radiator that look like they are the cold air intake for the engine. Is that right? One of KK's was blocked up with polly styrene. I assumed it wasn't supposed to be there. Is that right?
